There is also a little ferry that crosses the river which takes you to Nun Monkton. There is a lovely pub there called The Alice Hawthorne.

Home to Skelf Island,a big hit with the kids, this estate caters for everyone.
House, gardens cafe and even a garden centre.
Burnby Hall
The gardens here are a real delight to see especially when the tulips are in bloom.
